A century of Boy Scout Troop 1 of Wichita Falls’ duty to God and country, helping others and staying strong will be celebrated during a reunion weekend, June 10-12.

“All Troop 1 alumni are encouraged to update their contact information and participate in this noteworthy event,” said Michael Detrick, event committee chairman. Troop 1 is celebrating 100 consecutive years as a Boy Scouts of America chartered unit. “Alumni can go to www.troop1centennial.com or the Troop 1 Centennial Celebration page on Facebook.”

Jim Hughes – Mr. Scouting of Troop 1, Wichita Falls – Part 2

In the first article on the story of Mr. Jim Hughes, we looked at the man behind the name. A man deeply passionate about the Scouting movement and personally getting as much out of the enjoyment of working with the kids involved in Troop 1, Wichita Falls, as the kids whose lives he touched.
